Do drivers go dead? I have a cobra s2 offset that i used to be able to consistently hit 250 but lately i cant get anything past about 200 and it never feels like i hit it on the screws. All of my ball marks are around the center. I cant see any cracks or any signs of damage on the face. It also doesnt sound that great anymore either.

I think if you are losing 50yds of distance, and hitting it square, it seems a bit odd.

Do you have another driver to compare?  Like an older driver - or a buddies driver to hit side by side?  Just to see if you are truly losing that sort of distance with the other clubs side by side?  It wouldn't be a true scientific test, but would be a quick and easy way to see if there is something wrong with the driver.

If you find the driver is not performing... Maybe take it back to where you purchased it and have them take a look.  They may be able to help you out with either a replacement, or a trade.

Good luck bud.
