I got maybe 4 hours of sleep last night because my landlord was moving crap, I decided to go golfing anyways because it was 26* and the nicest day of the year. I started out and bogeyed 1, 2. From there I brought it back to - 2. Including 3 birdies, 1 eagle, 1 bogey, and 10 solid pars. The course I played is 9 par 3's varying in distance, shortest being 137 yds. 8 par 4's, and 1 par 5. Its target golf, small greens, O.B. on both sides of the fairway. But its not long. I think the course record is -8.

I just stuck my 7 iron shot on the par 3 165 yd. 16th and narrowly missed the 7 footer for birdie. Made a great up and down from the bunker on 17. Coming to 18 with tons of confidence, its a par 3 137 over water to a partial island green. I pulled 8 thinking if i miss hit it, its gauranteed to get over. I pured it and it one hopped on top of the bank in to the water hazard behind the hole. I doubled the hole to finish at even and I still have not shot under par.

On a positive note i was playing like crap untill today and I left alot of shots out there, this White Hot XG has restored confidence in my putting.

Wow, it's almost entirely par 3's and 4's? Does it have a rating/slope?

Yea, this is similar to my home course. It's 7 par 4's, 3 par 3's, and two par 5's (its only 9 holes) with O.B. everywhere, and extremely small greens, but large fairways...

Sounds like you had a good day. Like you said, it could've been better with some luckier bounces, but that's the way golf is..

The mens slope is 88, its not like its the toughest course but if you dont hit it straight you can easily make a big number on any hole. Its a fun course because of that reason, its target golf. I've shot even there 5 or 6 times, been under par but just cant close it out. Keep in mind this isnt my home course. Its definetely not a full length course. Personally par 3's are harder for me, because of the fact you have a one shot distance, if you miss.. you have to get up and down.

There are 5 course's I play from week to week every year. This one, a 6'500 yard championship course. A 6,995 championship course, A tight short par 4 course at 5,600. And a 9 hole you play through twice at 3,400. There are other but they're more expensive and far enough away i only play them once a year.

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
