I agree but this could also be said for the full swing. I think you reply is a cop out. Putting with bent elbows or wrist action is just plain wrong.

How is disagreeing with you a 'cop out'? You said putting with bent arms is wrong and I said it makes no difference either way. Or is your definition of a cop-out anything other than a black or white "yes I agree" or "I disagree"?

I've tried putting with straight arms and with bent arms and with a mallet putter, blade putter, SBST (as much as is humanly possible with a golf swing), an arcing stroke, with face-balanced and heavy toe balanced putters. The reason for all of the above has been to try and find out what works naturally for me personally. Just because someone says "if you use a mallet it's wrong" or "an arcing putting stroke is wrong" it doesn't mean a thing, just as your assertion that "putting with bent elbows is wrong".
