They just said on Golf Central that Arnie wasn't able to greet Tiger and Graeme after their round because he was taken to the hospital with blood pressure problems. Must have been something sudden, because he was in the booth earlier today. Thoughts and prayers with him.

Yeah, I was stunned to see the GC guy ask McDowell about it right after the round. GMac had apparently already heard, but I find it odd they they would ask him for his thoughts so soon after the finish. They just mentioned it at Tiger's presser too. Hope Arnold is alright.

They just delivered an update. He had been having his blood pressure checked throughout the day and about 15 minutes before the end of play it was high enough that the doctor advised him to go to the hospital. Apparently it's now under control but he's staying overnight.

Same here. My first memories of golf are watching him on TV when I was like 7 years old. And the first PGA event I ever attended was the 1967 LA Open, which he won. I was 13, and Jack was still fat then, so Arnie was by far the coolest golfer out there --- he looked like a movie star, like James Dean with his sleeves rolled up and a cigarette dangling from his lip (you young punks who never heard of James Dean can think Brad Pitt). I remember as we walked the course, my dad told me to watch out for the puddles that the women watching Arnie left, and I felt proud that he was talking to me like one of the guys.
