need help choosing the best irons for my money

I need some help choosing the best iron set to fit my budget. I play golf around 4 months out of the year and shoot generally in the mid 80s. I am playing with really old knockoff irons right now and am looking for an upgrade. I am looking to spend right around $200, I have been doing some research and the irons that have caught my attention are the Taylormade rac, Titlest 790cb, and the Ping G2. Are these the best I could get for my budget? Are there better other great options I have missed? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are a couple ways to do it.

1. If you have any major golf retailers near you, you could go in and see what they have left from last years stock. Often that will be on pretty good sale so you would get slightly better clubs than if you bought the current years stock. This will also give you a chance to try out the different clubs to see what you like best.

2. You can buy online and look for some good golf deals. Google will bring up allot of good bargain golf locations like rockbottomgolf.com and so on.  If you decide to go this way and you do have a golf retailer near you, you could also go and try different clubs and find out what you like. Then check online to see if you can find deals on those specific clubs.

3. You can look for used clubs. Again allot of large retailers stock a variety of used clubs from which you can choose, and you end up getting better clubs for how much you spend.  And of course sites like ebay, or even the marketplace forum on here gives you some selection.

No matter what choice you decide I would recommend getting at least somewhat of a fitting to make sure your getting the best clubs for yourself. Something to ensure you have the proper shaft length, flex, and club lie angle.
