Any camera buying tips?

I'm hoping that I can get a new camera for getting some good footage of my swing, my phone doesn't really get the job done anymore. I've looked through the site and there are some good reviews of cameras, but none that are very recent.

Does anyone have any good recommendations or reviews for a good camera for under $300 (preferably even less)? I've thought I might get one of those GoPros so I could use it for a lot more than just my swing, but IDK much about how good they are at high speed.

I recently got a Casio EX-ZR100 from Ebay for about $315. I had a camcorder before but preferred to get something that can shoot high speed and also be a good compact point and shoot camera. It's a hefty price tag, but I think it was worth it. The only gripe I have is you need to have LOTS of lighting for High Speed. I turned on all the lights in my living room just to test it out and it was still very dark.
