First irons on the range are predictable - and then the draw comes - and then the hook!

Recently, when I start my range sessions with a 7 iron, I am usually very pleased with the contact, divot, trajectory, distance, and direction. However, as I continue, I start to see a slight draw, and then occasionally see some 30 yard hooks...

I know that this is a random question, but has anyone else had this issue at some time in your "career"?

Any thoughts as what might be going on?

I know I can't trust what I feel...as I don't feel like I am doing anything different!

Argh! I love golf!

Your path comes in too far from the inside. I have this problem sometimes when I start tilting my shoulders (right shoulder goes down to the right foot) on the downswing rather than turning them. This causes my path to come way too far from the inside. I also early extend (hip thrust at the ball) when this tilt occurs.

Make sure your hips shift towards the target and not at the ball and your pelvis never thrusts at the ball. This will make it difficult for your shoulders to tilt and they should turn naturally following the hips.

This is just my experience, your experience my vary :).

I think you were spot on...as I warmed up and got more flexible I noticed that I started to take the club further and further inside and involving my right hand in this dastardly swing!  I focused on a nice hip bump toward the target and "shazaam" that worked nice.  After a bucket on the range - met up with my foursome partners and shot 77 .

Thanks for the reminder. This game is funny and frustrating in that one can get some horrible results when small changes creep in.
