Ok, so I've been using a Jack Niklaus JN 64 putter for years and I love it.  Recently I have been pulling putts, but I know that's my fault, NOT the putters.  And as of late I've been working on correcting closing the club face in my putt, with some success.  But I've been reading a lot about putter loft, and I was wondering if there was an inexpensive way to figure out what my putters loft is.

Now, yes I know I could do an internet search.  But there is a reason I'm asking this.  My wife's grandfather gave me his senior set because he can't play anymore and thought I might make some use out of what's in his bag.  It happens to be a Golden Bear GB Tech 460 set.  I took the 3 hybrid because I liked the feel, but the putter has been a debate for me.  I like blade putters and this is a mallet putter.  I've played around with it on the carpet at home (along side my JN 64).  Both seem to respond the same way, but the GB seems to roll more, which I think is because of loft.  But I don't know the loft of the putter and I can't find it online and it LOOKS the same as my JN (and since we are dealing with 1-2* probably, I doubt I can just see it).  So how do I figure out that loft?

Lastly, the GB putter is smooth and the JN putter has a completely milled face.  Anybody know what difference that makes?  I imagine its control and that the milled will give more control while the smooth face doesn't.

ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!!

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
