I am 21 years old and am in my 3rd full year of golfing on a consistent basis (practicing and playing) and I have made huge strides so far. One large issue my friend pointed out to me today at the range was at the beginning of my downswing I push my hands out a little away from my body which causes me to come across the ball and slice the crap out of my driver. He told me to mention that I am not "casting" I am just pushing my hands which causes a slice.

I would greatly appreciate any tips, suggestions, drills or any other thoughts on this topic. Thanks!

Stop your backswing at the TOP instead of the END, That helped to cure my slice.

I have a great tip to improve timing and balance and if ur moving ur hands out it sounds like your balance is affected. Try hitting 3/4 shots on the driving range with your back foot on the toes. Promotes balance and perfect weight transfer, when you can do that while maintaining balance and hitting sweet spot then take full swings.
