Joined a golf league

So today I joined my first golf league... it runs the course of the summer and is really unstructured. Basically there are four courses that we play and each week, one of those four is the "featured course." There is no set time or anything; we just go out sometime during the week, play the "featured course" and submit our score. I think it'll be fun.

The best part is that it was an amazing deal... it cost $125 to join and with that we get a nice Bridgestone carry bag as well as a certificate for a foursome to use during peak season; that certificate alone is worth about $800. On top of that we can play any of the four courses anytime we want over the summer for $25 regardless of if it's the featured course or not. For those familiar with the area I live, La Quinta (Palm Springs area), the courses are the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course and Greg Norman Course at PGA West and the Mountain and Dunes courses at La Quinta Resort. I played my first round today on the Mountain course and it was simply awesome. I basically signed up for the cheap golf, and the fact that there are weekly prizes and a little competition to go along with it is just a bonus.

Yeah... not a chance in hell of that happening... Not sure if you saw my reply in that thread but I was pretty much in agreement with what newtogolf had said; if some is going to do it I'm gonna take off... just isn't cool with me.

anyway, is the Nicklaus PGA course the one where they play the Honda?  Or is that PGA National?

That's PGA National which is in Florida... The Nicklaus Tournament course is at PGA West which is in La Quinta, CA... it's at the same place where they have the Humana (formerly Bob Hope) tournament, although not the same course (they play that on the Nicklaus Private and Palmer Private courses).

I believe he's referring to Palm Springs California, not Palm Beach Florida........The Honda Classic is played at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens Florida. The event in Palm Springs California used to be the Bob Hope Classic, but is now know as the Humana Challenge.
