I want to thank everyone for their kind words.  It's really been a fun journey and I don't want it to end!  I know it's inevitable the index will shoot up probably sooner than later, but I will enjoy the ride while it lasts.   Now that I am so close, my goal is to crack into the plus category

I've already congratulated you - it's an awesome accomplishment! Out of curiosity, I wanted to ask a couple of questions (if you don't mind): Scratch golfers obviously do everything pretty well. Almost everyone, though, has a part of their game that they consider their strength or that is better than other parts. If you have a thing, what is it - driving, chipping/pitching, putting, etc.? If there is one part of your game that you think is a weakness and might say 'if I could do this more consistently, I'd pick up a shot for sure', what might it be? Is there a thing that, in your journey to scratch, you consider a turning point? Some people might say, 'My temperament improved', or 'I changed x in my swing/putting'. You get to play a lot, much to the envy of a lot of folks here, I'm sure..:-) Do you practice much, if ever, after your rounds? Your home track looks pretty tough. How well does your game travel? I hope none of these things comes across as negative. They aren't intended to be. They're things I'd probably talk about if we were playing together and knew each other. Again, congrats on getting to scratch. Such a small percentage of players ever get there.....well done!

I most definitely don't do everything well.....  I have my demons. My weakness is the shank........I don't hit my long irons well, and I am Jekyl and Hyde from bunkers.  My wedges, chipping and putting are my strengths.  I never practice ....I just play a lot.  I play a lot of courses well, but I need a few rounds to get comfortable if it's a long and difficult course.  If it's what I consider an easy course...not so much.  I probably have a 1-2 stroke advantage on my home course because I know it so well.....so yea, I'll take a bit of a hit on the road.

    • Announcing;  it bugs me when they ask “Are you proud of yourself?”  “Are you proud of the way you played?”  “Are you proud of this or that?”  In what other sport do the announcers-interviewers ask this annoying question? And then the golfers have to answer… “I was really proud of myself when.. yada yada" Tyrell Hatton, 16th hole;  Following his reaction to his tee shot, after his first putt I thought his head was going to explode.  He’s kinda entertaining that way, I think he’s the top contender for ‘most likely to explode'
    • Update on my prediction!  Standing by it, regardless of my mangling of the divorce item in point #3. As to where we stand, Rory’s turnaround, wow.  His talent is undeniable, and as he puts it himself - he’s resilient.
    • Not sure what you’re referring to? Raising my hand on the Rory divorce point - I got that wrong, looks like they’ve reconciled, good for him.  And I’ll concede this undermines the third point in my analysis as to why he won’t win a Masters.   However, what other simple facts did I get wrong?
