The most I've walked is 45 holes in a day when I was in my late 20s-30'ish.  ..............and I did it with my dad!! (on a few occasions) My dad would have been mid 50's at the time!  I lived in Columbus and he lived up on lake erie at the time.  we had a "halfway" course we'd meet at a few times a summer and walking 36 was a minimum requirement.

The only way you can do 100 is on a closed course and I see that is what he did.  Private courses are closed on monday....it makes sense.   He had to walk because no carts were available!!

Back in the early 90s I participated in the American Cancer Society's 'Longest Day of Golf'. It was held June 21st (longest day of the year) & the idea was getting people to donate on a 'per hole played' basis, like a buck or whatever. Anyway, one year we played 105 holes at Old Marsh Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens. FL. We teed off at 630a & played five full rounds & 15 holes of a 6th before it got dark. We averaged about 2 1/2 hours per 18 holes. We each had our own cart, but played as a foursome. The cart was stocked with a cooler full of Gatorade, granola bars, bananas etc so we didn't have to stop between rounds to eat. The members even came out to give us food & to watch us play. And whenever we would come up to a group they were told to let us play through since we were doing it for charity. It was an awesome day!

We were also given a couple dozen golf balls too.

It really was cool! We were treated like celebrities - "Let them through, they're playing for charity!"

That's my kind of charity.  Sure beats riding 150 miles on a bike.
