i took everyone advice from yesterday and worked on it today hopefully my swing is getting better until my lessons what pointers can you give me.

Nice.  I can see you're coming a bit more from the inside on some of those.

The only thing is, and this is a maddening fact of golf, what you do with no ball on the ground is different than what you do when one is there.  A lot of us experience the phenomenon of making great practice swings and then doing something totally different on the real swing.  It's basically because, when you set up to a real ball, your mind says "there's the ball, better hit it" . .and then of course you try to hit at the ball and all is lost.

Thanks. Im going to the driving range tomorrow to practice just trying to get the motion down until i go for my lessons.

Your head is moving a lot during your swing. Try to stabilize it for more consistent hits, it's seems like the back is raising from begining of the backswing thru your whole swing, causing your head to rise but im not certain. If you post videos in slow motion(only one swing) and from backview also it will be easier to see what you are doing.

Ok thanks i noticed that also my head moving to much but is my weight change and hip rotation decent through the ball.

seems your weight is a lot on the right foot on the top of the swing and this is because of your body is moving away from target(which is also moving the head).

There were three things I noticed - this is all said with a disclaimer that I'm nowhere near a pro, but rather someone working on my own swing and things I've been working on this year (after 3 years away from the game)

1. The heel of the front (left) foot is lifting during your backswing, but stayed quiet during those practice swings you were taking with the driver (about four minutes in).  I've been working on keeping my front foot planted to keep me from turning too far in the back swing.

2. It's tough to tell from the front angle, but it looks like your back foot is in front of your front foot - I've found that when I do this, I end up with a pull or a pretty severe push slice.

3. Your hips slide back during the back swing and back forward during the down swing - this might add to what the previous poster said about the weight being more on the right foot on the back swing (and contributing to the front heel coming up.

Just some things I noticed that have been pointed out to me over the years - and the part about the hips moving, I've heard differing comments on it, but most of them suggest that this is something to avoid as an amateur.

At number 2 if you mean he is staying with an open stance, this is not something you shouldn't be able to do. Look at the pros in competions for instance tiger woods he is almost always staying with an open stance, you just need to understand that you can't swing the same with an open stance as with a closed stance you need to correct the swingpath according to the stance.

thanks alot man im glad you mentioned it you are right i went to the driving range today and hit about 150 balls working on all my clubs ill post the video later but i noticed on my video from today im still raising my left foot like you said. all 3 thing you said are correct i hope ive fixed a couple today. im amazed at the progress i have made in 2 days of practicing these drills at how much ive impoved im hitting my driver today with crappy range balls carrying it in the air 240 to 250 were before this i was lucky to carry 200 to 220. i also gained 10 yards on my 6 iron and up.  but i have alot of work to do to get comfortable hitting my 3 wood and 4 and 5 irons off the deck with this swing wast going to good i did hit one ball with my 3 wood about 240 to 250. but its still a work in progress ill continue to work at it and ill post the video later on tonight after i download it and edit it. thank a ton guys i appreciate all your help.

    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
    • That's a great spring/summer of trips! I'll be in Pinehurst in March, playing Pinehurst No. 2, No. 10, Tobacco Road, and The Cradle.
    • April 2025 - Pinehurst, playing Mid Pines and Southern Pines + 3 other courses. Probably Talamore, Mid-South, and one other.  July 2025 - Bandon Dunes, just me and my dad.
