So I've been golfing 3 times now and I've busted two drivers?

The first set was my girlfriends dad's on the last hole, I swung and the head went flying down the fairway...I just came back from the driving range and busted a second driver with the exact same scenario, the head separated and flew down the range.

Am I doing something wrong or do I just have shit drivers? What should I look for in the next one to be sure this dosen't happen again? Is it possible for a roughly ~$50 driver?

My suggestion would be to get a driver/fairway wood  with a steel shaft,  something you can pick up for $2 at a garage sale,  and practice at the range making clean contact.....   don't worry about where the ball goes,  just worry about not beating the club into the ground.
