Hey everyone

I'm having some trouble with my right toe(I"m a right handed golfer) and am having a good amount of pain after a long range session and or a round of golf.  I've been told that the pointed toes of my golf shoes in conjuction with repetitive pressure on the right toe are causing the issue. I have had some noticeable swelling at the base toe joint and  I have been told that if ignored that i could end up with bunions ect.

My shoes need to be wider and with a more Box toe shape than the traditional pointed toe dress shoe look.  I dont have much to choose from locally so i was wondering if you might be able to point me in the right direction.

Looking online i see that the street shoe versions that come in wide or EE sizes

Oakleys ripcord golf shoes

Footjoy casual contour

I also would like to hear from anyone who has had the same issue and how you resolved it ...custom insoles, orthotics,,,,,amputations whatever.

Thanks for the responses

The athletic shoe/casual shoes (I'm currently using the Foot Joy casual contour) seem to be more loose in the toe area, even in the normal D width, than the dressier shoes, from my limited experience.

A good podiatrist and a good cobbler (especially one who deals in orthopedics) can be your best friends in this situation. The podiatrist can tell you what you need (and may even know a good cobbler), while the cobbler can possibly modify a shoe to meet your needs. Hopefully you can find both in your area. It might take more time than just buying a new pair, but it's worth it, IMO.
