Well - the driver has been out of the bag for 3/4 of the season and life has been much easier for it. For me - the driver just wasnt consistent enough. I spent more time making up yardage than gaining yardage.

I have been hitting the Cobra sz off the tee and have been very pleased with the results - distance off the tee is not my main problem in golf so I am ok not driving 260 yards. I also own the 5 wood sz.

My question is this - how does the sz woods compare in general to the 'newer' woods. I know that the sz's were rated very high in the much publicized hotlists a couple years ago. Is there a significant upgrade out there for me ??? Off the tee I'm about 200 with the 5 wood and about 220 with the 3 - and pretty darn consistent with them - but you know how the upgrade disease is always lurking.

I can't necessarily answer your question, but I've also removed my driver from my bag when playing a round. Since I've been primarily using a 15 degree Tour Edge Bazooka 3 wood off the tee, I've been checking out the 12 degree 2 wood made by Thomas Golf and the 12.5 degree 2 wood by Izzo. I'm leaning toward the Thomas Gof 2 wood right now.

I'm also interested in other recommendations in fairway woods!
