I play all titleist clubs, woods, irons, wedges and putter. Ive been playing a 913d driver, that I bought used and I havent liked it. Its way to big. I came across a 975d on ebay and bought it. I used to own one years ago and regrettably sold it. I got it yesterday and hit it on the range and wow! I forgot how great this driver is, even tho it is outdated in my opinion its still the best driver ever made. I hit the ball farely long, with my 983k and the 913 I hit it around 280,after a few shots and I warmed up I was hitting the 975d at the 300 mark, a few went past. Even with all the new technology and even Taylor Mades new drivers, I believe this is still the best driver at least for me. I dont like the big clubheads on the new drivers, for me 300 cc is the max.

I wish this one had the x100 shaft. It has ust gold 75 low torque stiff flex, the clubhead is in great shape. Ur right when u miss hit it,u pay for it but when u catch it flush, the ball just launches. Ive never hit a driver as far as the 975d, even the new tm's. I plan on buying up as many as I can find, I'll probably play the 975d the rest of my life.

I also still have a biggest big bertha, another great driver but for some reason I could never really get the ball in the air the way I like with it,but could hit pretty far.

    • Its not. They are just giving an example in a situation say if cant reach it. Example, You have 230 to the center of the green, you cant hit a club you have that far, so you whip out a 3/5 wood or whatever, but you have to hit it soft because there is trouble in front of the green, a bunker or water. A full swing would land you in the trouble. You want to lay up as close to the green as you can. So you aren't hitting a full shot with that club so for distance tracking you can make that shot a provisional and it wont affect the distance stats.

    • I had a 5 wood.  Now have moved onto hybrids and have a 4 hybrid.  As I get older a more lofted hybrid and/or 7 and 9 woods will come into my bag.  I have learnt that as swing speed declines, loft is your friend
