Hey everybody, just joined up.  I turned 31 recently and am attempting to put a real effort into this game for the first time.

I bought a $100 set of clubs in high school and maybe played a total of 15 rounds by age 30, so I never really put much effort in and was "shocked" that I wasn't immediately great.

Anyway, I'm taking a few lessons with a local pro and attempting to put a real effort into the game this time around to see if I can't reach a level of play that makes the game more enjoyable.

My most recent round was a 49 on a 9 hole course.  I've been at it for about a month now, range, chipping etc about 3 times a week and trying to play at least once a week.  I'm hoping that within a year I can be consistently hitting mid 80s.  I think at that level the game would be very enjoyable.

Anyway, that is a lot of background, looking forward to learning a lot from this site.
