So the title pretty much explains it. I can hit my driver fine and my 2-iron utility clean as butter, but when it comes to hitting my 3 wood, I just can't do it. It's getting to the point where I might just take it out of my bag and put my 3-iron back in. Off the tee or even from the fairway, it just always slices or hooks, never straight, fades, or draws. I normally play a 5 yrd draw on a majority of my clubs, but I can't hit a consistent shot with any pattern with a 3 wood. Any pointers or help would be great.

thanks guys

Theres 2 schools of though with a 3-wood: the oldschool method is that you play it forward in your stance (a couple inches inside of your left foot for a right-handed player) and just sweep it off the ground.  The newer method is that you play it much more like a long iron, hit down on it and take a shallow divot.

For me, my 3-wood is typically a driving club on a tight hole.  Im not the best at hitting it off the ground.  I can hit it just fine off of a tee because the ball is already in the air slightly, so its easy for me to get under it and get it up in the air.  Off the deck though, even my good shots are pretty low.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?
