See the title. Greetings from the home country of golf. I am a junior golfer, 14 years of age with a handicap of 25. I play regularly at Peterhead Golf Club's 9 hole course. I have also played at nearby Longside. On Friday I am going to Cruden Bay.

Welcome Erik! I have never visited the "home country of golf" but have a friend who will be visiting soon. Please have fun wandering around the site and make yourself at home here at The Sand Trap.

We are a great crowd and LOVE GOLF! What equipment do you use? Do you play only 9 holes at a time or do you also play regulation?

Sincerely,
Stacy Solomon

Cheers for the welcome. I use texan golf clubs, but I have a Howson driver. I had two clubs which broke, but got free replacements.

I only play about 7 holes at a time usually. The reason being that at my home course, juniors need a handicap of 12 or less to play the 18 hole course. I play the 9 hole, but usually skip 7 and 8. The reason for this is that it is a large hill, 6 takes you down, then 7 back up, then 8 down and 9 is flat more or less. So, you can just skip from the 6th green to the 9th tee.

Welcome to The Sand Trap! You will definitely learn some stuff here and probably even have some fun debating with all of the other crazy golfers.

Playing in Scotland is definitely on my short list of things to do before I die, so hopefully I can make my way across the pond sooner rather than later.

Again, welcome aboard and see you around.

ok, no more picture of Mrs. Woods on the forum please!

But seriously - welcome. You don't even know how lucky you are - you live in scottland, you play golf at 14... you have whole life of golf ahead of you. The misery, frustration, anger, helplessness, fury, rage, nervous breakdowns for years and years to come... I envy you

Cruden Bay is a great course. Are you going to play the 18? or the junior course? The 4th hole out there is awesome as is the 5th. 17 has a huge hump in the middle of the fairway. Great course. Not very long but not easy.
