It was getting close to dark, and I was playing by myself, but I could swear I was robbed of an Eagle (would have been my first) the other day.

It was a short downhill par 4 and I was about 90 yards from the green. I hit my 50* wedge and the ball landed right at the pin and then somehow bounced sky high 10 yards past the green into the rough. It was 90 yards away but I'm convinced my ball somehow landed in the cup (with the flag in) and then bounced out. The worst part is I couldn't even get up and down and had to settle for bogey. :(

Am I delirious or is this seriously possible?

As described, I don't think its possible. I have seen a 125 yard wedge shot hit where it hits the very top of the pin and it still didn't bounce. Your shot would have to exit and enter the hole freely and still not likely to bounce high. My guess is you hit a frozen part of the green, perhaps a shadow thru the course of the day that never allowed the green to thaw, that would explain the high bounce

Considering it was barely above freezing temp that sounds plausible. Thanks for the insight Spitfisher!
