David Feherty is a bipolar recovering alcoholic and former touring golf pro who also happens to be one of the best interviewers on TV.

"Welcome to my televised nervous breakdown," says the Golf Channel's David Feherty, just before a recent taping. With his shaggy hair and trademark Vandyke, the 56-year-old looks more like an aging skateboarder than a TV personality in the stodgy world of golf. Feherty is the host of an hour-long celebrity chat show, now in its fourth season. Feherty is one of the Golf Channel's highest-rated programs and one of the most idiosyncratic on TV. Every week, the former top 10–ranked European Touring Pro from Northern Ireland, a bipolar recovering alcoholic who wrote his bestselling novel, A Nasty Bit of Rough , while blind drunk, gets everyone from Jack Nicklaus to Jack Welch to reveal their highs and lows, both on the links and off. In a sport known for its hushed voices, Feherty keeps it real. He has asked infamous college basketball coach Bobby Knight, "Why are you such an *******?" and been told by Bill Clinton, "You know why I'm doing your show? Because you're as full of it as I am!"

I enjoy Feherty a lot.  He is refreshing compared to other "stiffer" interviewers.

    • Thanks! Better though? Not worried about overdoing it yet. These were also the best videos of several I took. More to be done for sure but moving in the right direction I think.
    • Can be out and up a little more. Not quite over-done yet.
    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
