I actually won a 114 satellite to get into this weekend. That paid well.... I am glad there is finally a legal way to bet on players and make the weekend more interesting. I don't want to put up the site name or endorse... D....K....initials.. 20$ entry and you pick 6 each week.

Should be interesting and figured those here that didn't know about it should...

This week I had DJ, Speith, JB, Casey, C. Hoffman, and Donaldson. You must check the format too before entering. More points on Eagles and basically going for it than not... A flat PAR win would not score as well as someone at +1 and second that had several eagles and more bogie's...

Ironically the guy I beat had the same lineup 3 times over and came in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Talk about going for it...

I made two different $2 bets (high roller lol...was just trying it out) on that website with the same lineup, I even had DJ and JB Holmes in my lineup but my other players did so bad that I ended up with only about a $40 profit. Meh, better than nothing I suppose. I'm going in on the Masters bet and I'll be doing a couple at the Valspar this weekend as well.

What I don't understand is they claim guaranteed specific winnings, yet it almost never fills up? How does that work.

It isn't easy and I had forgot about my other entries. One did really bad and I listed a player that withdrew.

I am into it. Have hit big over the past couple years on straight win bets, usually first timers. THat goes along with the thread of guys palying for a paycheck more than the win. So many want that "ONE WIN" it is important. I look at Brendon Todd as a perfect example. He was playing great or very good leading up to his win. Once done it is a "finally" moment for any pro, they are human.

Now you can pay off your house, build a big investment account and settle in for the long haul. I know most don't agree. At that point I would think about making 500 - 1M a year for a couple playing top 50 golf.

If 4 shots down going into the last round and great names above you, do you ? Go for the 65 on 7 birdies and maybe shoot a 78 earning a 65th place and 22K or do you ? Shoot a 71 earning a 17th place and 120K

Had a bad week, despite having Spieth on one team and Reed on the other, way too many miss-cuts from my other players, and i got a BIG FAT NOTHING back. I found it interesting that both teams were exactly equally bad as far as points go.

Was that is the 27$ tour ? And did you do that via screen shot ? I am quadhole on there too. Finished 203 / 4609 and got back 80 bucks...

I see now, 350 points was bottom payout....

Really do think I have been lucky, both weeks, to win is very hard and to cash isnt easy....I had speith and reed. THe killer was donaldson not making the cut with 4 bogies to end the friday round. He was sitting above the cut line by 1 when I looked, next thing I know he is 2 below it.

I only played one and have 2 entries already for this week. Looking at it, I don't feel to confident on the players I will pick... TOugh spot by lineup... I know some I will stay away from for sure...

Not sure, I have read that at the begininng they know they will take a hit.... Kind of like that new stock trading platform Robinhood. They are backed by invesment bankers, small (rich) clients. It is a FREE trading platform on Beta now. They will lose money now to gain the investors, allowing trades of 10 bucks will gain support with the 20s crowd. They will make money on Margin accounts, balance interest, etc...

Wish I could get in on something like that early.... For you rich guys... Call your richer friends and get in on that... They will be as big as ETRADE in 10 years and worth very little now... For a invesment guru offering them 1M now, they will most like return 20M in 5 years, if not 10 times that.... Who would have ever though a taxi cab APP could be worth 8B in  value... Or a B2B....

Yup, I've know learned that missed-cuts are the biggest killer. You could predict 1st, 2nd, and 3rd but if your other 3 guys miss the cut....you're screwed.

I'll know go forward and have to look at who's peaking, who's good at that particular course, AND who consistently makes cuts.

Edit: and yeah I just took a screenshot and cropped it in paint.

Can you put a $20 bet on the Masters 2.2M challenge? Or do you have to join one of the mini-tourney's and "earn" your ticket?

Edit: Nevermind, just saw that you can make a straight $20 bet.

Yes, like you write. Your picking one team. Can't tell you how hard it is, but there will be a winner. YOu can bet there will be enough players that you will have to everyone thru the cut and most likely have 6 of the top 7, if not all of the top 6. Then again, someone can finish down the board abd have more eagles, birdies, etc. Make sure to check out the scoring system. In this weeks I have a team at 210 place and 2025 place.... Both still have a chance and I have good players on both.

Wish I had M. hoffman, at least today I do.

I have Poulter, Na, and Laird on my team so a decent 1st round. Unfortunately I also have Streelman...if Streelman can just make the cut I think this could be a good week

I have him too on my BAD team.... Think I have problems on both team and will be lucky. My leading team is...Bradley, Laird, Na, Stenson, Gonzales and Leishman.

That's a great team, did Leishman and Gonz make the cut? JB Holmes missed the cut on my team so I'll be lucky if I can get any money back.

I lost everything this weekend. Could have bought a win ticket on EVERY Saturday evening for 34-1. Didn't because I had everyone else near the top and he was the one guy I did not feel would win it. Shows, you just never know.

This week will be hard. I feel it will be a first time winner and a young guy. Blair, Swafford, Hoffman, Berger, LEE, Ortiz, Saunders, Barber, Thomas, even Fathaurer, or Hadwin if they are listed... Well see, these guys get railed with Tee times and it is tough to break through. Should be a bunch of guys NOT playing and this opens the door, next week too...

Good Luck...

The bigger names are Jason Dufner, Zach Johnson, Martin Kaymer, Matt Kuchar, G-Mac, Jimmy Walker, & Jordan Spieth.

There's some others like Gary Woodland, Nick Watney, Harris English. It's actually a pretty good field.

I am staying away from all of those guys. I honestly believe this is where the NOT WANTING TO WIN comes into play. Win now, lose your chance to win at the Masters. Golfers can be strange and have all kinds of ipps... One would be is is difficult to win and to string together too many wins is not a good thing, you peaked at your win, etc... I think they will work on their game hoping for a top 20 getting better by the round. Same thing next week.

You would have to think they put a lot of thought into how they want to enter the Tour... Dustin Johnson and Speith are the only ones that worry me in that bunch, maybe English... D.J is tops in putting and driving and speith is just playing great. They are young and may not be thinking as much down the road.

This is the reason Mickelson is there, play ok this week, better next week if in and great the following week..

Who knows, I could be wrong about them.... I have done very well in the past 3 - 4 years so I must be guessing correctly... All the young guys have great odds and cheap on draftking. One thing for sure, whoever is leading on Saturday will most likely not win and betting everyone else is a great bet...

    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.

    • Thanks man, sometimes it’s hard to improve bc when I’m not feeling comfortable I don’t like practicing bc I get frustrated. Any advice?
