How does a course get it's score rating and slope rating? What are the factors that are involved?

Swing = Stacked and On Plane when possible.

Yes, that is a good link, I read through the slope stuff. Much informative.

The coles notes version from my understanding is that Slope is a secondary ranking for the handicap. They plot the scores of different handicap players on the course and draw a line. They come up with a slope ranking from the y intersect of the graph. The average slope is 113.

Until today I thought it was dictated by elevation or something, but the numbers didn't always make sense in that respect. Never wanted to ask and look like an idiot in the pro shop.
