I've been Playing Golf for: 4 years

My current handicap index or average score is:38-46

My typical ball flight is:high

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: all my inconsistency

Videos:

I feel like I have a pretty solid swing and I golf very regularly when the weather permits lol. I am very inconsistent however and am just wondering if you guys see anything I should work on thanks.

Hi, welcome to the site. Couple things.

- Can you be more specific about what your inconsistencies are?

- Do you have any video of yourself hitting a ball? Practice swings aren't really that great to analyze.

- Check out this article on filming your swing.

Thank you seems like a great site! I've already read a bunch of threads that seem very helpful. I'm going to the range today so I'll try and video a swing or two. I am aware that I had a very strong grip on the past and that probably had a bad effect, but Its definitely better now even though it still feels uncomfortable. I hit a lot of snap hooks last year which was probably party because of my grip right?

Could be any number of reasons for the snap hooks, probably not the grip IMO. Even with your practice swings there is one piece I saw that can lead to some hooks. I'll wait to comment further when you upload the latest swings.

I
I know that I was coming inside out which was causing some fade/ slices which I normally don't do too often. Do you think this is caused by too steep a swing maybe? I never had lessons but am considering it for sure, any responses appreciated.

Hi, your swing looks pretty darn good, especially your flexibility and movement. You will get some top advice from folks on this site so you are in good hands. I can recommend evolvr as an online lesson programme if you want reliable instruction. Good luck

Do you mean outside in? You path is left or across the ball.

Here's what I recommend you do to change things.

Shorten up the arm swing on the backswing, feel like your elbows stay closer together all the way to the top. This will make the next piece easier.

Work on this feel on the downswing to help you swing more OUTward.

More weight forward on the downswing will help you change the picture to look closer to the right pic, left arm deeper, shaft more shallow.

Thanks and yeah that's what I meant I don't know why I said inside out. Thank you for the advice I'll be sure to work on it tomorrow when I probably go to the range again!
