I dont mind it so much, the only time I mind is when people are there and not doing things related to golf. When they are talking on the phone or doing something like that, then I mind, but when its golf related for some reason I dont mind at all. I do not think people should be extra loud though, that can get annoying.

Funny I was thinking about this the other day at the range. The only two issues I have are crying babies at the range and unspervised young childeren. I had these two parents with both the other day. They brought their baby and it was screaming and crying the whole time. And then their other child that was maybe 4 kept running out onto the range to get balls. I kept thinking "Man your kid is about to get killed!"

For the most part when I do go out on the range I take the noise etc. in stride. It's good to work on learning to shut out the outside elements, especially when they are beyond your control. Plenty of situations come up on the course like noise at other tee boxes, greens, airplanes, cars, carts etc. that distract too many players in the groups I have played with over the years. Gotta shut it out. However people near or on my aimline or swingpath are another thing and IMO kids, especially young ones at the driving ranges are no-no's. They don't have the spatial awareness to keep themselves safe and many times the parents aren't fully controlling them because they are out there practicing as well. If parents really want to expose their young kids to golf or need to practice themselves limit it to the putting/chipping green. Much much safer and it's the foundation of the game anyways.

I agree. The last thing you want to worry about while practicing is accidentally hurting someone who's not paying attention. That being said about young children, I did see a father with his son at the range the other day. He as about 6. He had a pretty nice little swing and was practicing hard under the close supervision of his father. I had no problem with this and actually thought it was really cool. So I guess my thought is parents better have their children on a very short leash.
