What do you guys do during the winter months? Any drills you do during the winter? I plan on getting to the dome at least once a week and just practicing putting in my basement. Is there something I should concentrate at the dome?

same thing as during the summer except with a jacket and pants (sometimes winter gloves if its extra cold-around 45-50*) it really doesnt get too cold in alabama, lows are never really below 40 during midday and theyre usually higher than that.

The winter is mighty cold here in Finland so I'm setting up a practice area in my garage as well. Bought a net for hitting into and a mat to hit off. Swinging a driver in the garage felt a little claustrophobic, even though there was enough room for it, so I think I'll just be sticking to irons. I'll probably try going to the dome once or twice a week as well so I can actually see where the balls are going :)

Not much actually, I really should do more. Last year I didn't touch a club for about 3 months and really paid for it come Spring time. I doubt that will happen this winter, my golf addiction reached an all time high this year so I don't think I can go 3 months without hitting balls...probably couldn't make it 2 weeks.

I usually hang up the clubs until I take a vacation or two down south. Some drills are a little too dangerous if you can't hit some balls in order to see what effect those drills actually had on the flight of the ball. You might use the drill so much that by the time you play again you've over corrected what you were working on.

I sometimes take a large couch cushion and prop it up vertically on the floor, against the base of the couch (carpeted floor). Take something low, like a 6I or 7I, and stand just far enough away so the club can't reach the pillow. Make slow motion half-swings, concentrating on nothing more than keeping a rhythm (albeit very slow), staying connected, making really good contact, downward strike, and following through balanced. Sounds weird but, yes, you can do this indoors, and you may surprise yourself how you can actually make that ball *thump* into the pillow, and how this will carryover into a full, actual playing-speed swing.

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

    • Day 3: about 20 minutes of putting on the practice green. Focused on putts within 10 feet.
    • I don't have enough details to know what to tell you, man. If they were walking across, to play devil's advocate, maybe just wait another 10 seconds next time.
    • Day 11: Putts with a metronome and worked on some feels for greenside shots.
    • I realize the frame cuts off my tail but wanted to specifically see my hand path and club shaft and head travel from A5 to A7 with the grip and posture work I have been doing . This might be the shallowest I have managed to get the club head to enter into impact. I like the finish much more as well.
    • Context:  I used to play golf very regularly (and when I'm playing regularly, I'm on TST regularly).  In summer 2022, I got my handicap down to a personal-best 11.9.  Unfortunately, in the three years since then, I've had far less time to play, and didn't really make the time to practice.  I've played a bit more the past few months, and I anticipate having a lot more time to practice starting in about two months, at which point I'm hoping to go back to my old practice habits (practicing daily, Evolvr lessons, spending more time on TST (come to think of it, I can do that important last part now)).   But it was thinking about how different my nines have been a few times in the past month or so that made me wonder if there was a thread here about it, and sure enough, there was.  In the past month or so, I've had a 38-46 and a 45-39.
