Hi all! I would like to hear the opinions of some more experienced guys! I'm still a high handicapper, but my game is starting to improve nicely, but I'm still playing with some old Spalding irons, and I would like to upgrade. As I'm working on a student budget, I'm buying second hand, and in my price range (and nearby) there are the Ping i3 O-size irons and the Taylormade RAC irons. Which whould you guys recommend? (Also for just a bit more I could get MP60s, but they are probably a bit too good for my level?)

Also Ping G2s available for the same price as the other 2 sets. I'm leaning towards the RACs, what do you think?

Which RACs are we talking about? There were many Taylormade models bearing that name MB, TP, OS, LT, and HT to name a few. I've hit them all except the HT and they're all great clubs. I assume you're looking to score a quality set for cheap online. If you're sure about your specs I'd go with the Pings because they tend to be more durable. If you're unsure about specs I'd go with the RACs because you can get the lie angle adjusted if necessary.

Sadly, none of the deals I mentioned went through. I was lucky enough to get a great set of MX15s for a HUGE bargain. I even got a great second hand Cobra Amp Cell 2/3 hybrid extra and paid the same as I would have for the TMs and Pings. So I'm chuffed with that!
