I want to take some pictures of my home course, both to be part of putting together a course notebook and because I find it beautiful. The problem is, I have no idea of the etiquette of it, so I figured I'd ask first.

When, during the round, is it OK to take pictures? When waiting for the group ahead of me to move out of my group's range? Is there any other acceptable time?

You might try asking the pro if you could ride around with a cart and take a few pics at specific times when they might not be busy. For example, if you wnated a sunset picture on hole x, he may say this or that night would be best.

I'd try and do it when you were not playing, regardless of the pace of play ahead or behind.

As longs as your partners don't mind and you're not holding people up I'd say go ahead.
