I am a huge F1 fan and have been watching it every season sincei was 6 years old, but this is the 1st year i have thought about watching something else.

Like last year its already pretty much a Mercedes 1-2 (best car on the grid so fair enough), bit the thing that annoys me is this: Singapore 2015,  Lewis Hamilton has a bad Qualifying session but is up to 4th mid race before suddenly having "loss of power" and dropping 2 sec a lap and falling to 16th (before getting bored and retiring).

Now, had this been a close season i could swallow that, but as it was nearly a 1 horse race in the drivers championship (he wa 58 points ahead of Rosberg), i feel fowl play was at large.

Pit crews can alter engine maps, KERS system, fuel maps etc. remotley from the pits so many believe they turned down his engine to give Rosberg the edge. Thing is Mclaren did the same ti Buttons engine to stop it from blowing up so it can be done,

For me, the whole "control 90% of the car from the pits" has gone too far, it should be driver and car, end of.

F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport so there are 2 arguments.

Some say it should have the best tech available, others (myself included) say it should be about the best driver.

Go back to huge power, big tyres and small wings with H pattern gearboxes. If the cars a tricky to drive then its down to the squishy thing behind the wheel (google Senna Monaco 1988 and you'll see what i mean.)

Are there any other fans here who have been turned off by this techno BS we have these days?

    • Day 2 (20 Jan 26) - Similar work as yesterday - started with lead hand solo drills with the 50°, followed by series of pitches and chips utilizing full setup.
    • Hey, thanks for the feedback. I do lift weights but I’m also adding yoga or Pilates for mobility and flexibility to my routine.
    • Day 18: 2026.01.20 Continuing work on arm raise during backswing. Starting to feel less weird, especially the slower I go. Looking like a busy week so might be the weekend before I can hit some balls.
    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
