It was announced last week in the Charlotte Observer that Quail Hollow Country Club will change several holes after this year's Wells Fargo Championship. The changes are in preparation for the 2017 PGA Championship. Hole #1 will become a par 5 utilizing part of hole #2, Hole #3 will become #2 and the former par 5 fifth hole will become the par 3 fourth and par 4 fifth holes. Tom Fazio will oversee these changes as well as converting all of the green to a different type of Bermuda grass. This will be interesting in that most of the pros (especially Phil Mickelson) have praised the course ever since the tournament began. I guess we'll have to wait and see how these changes will be received. One thing for sure is the course will play differently for those who participate regularly in the Wells Fargo.
