So I broke my shaft today.  Figured I would simply get the same shaft to replace it but wondered if I should change anything. I have. Nike Dynmo 2 driver with an Aldila NV 65 R shaft.  I've had the club for 8 years (fitted) and hit it well (straight, but not particularly long).  My question is, can I get any more distance with a different shaft?  I know that might be hard to discern via forum message, but I will try to give as much info as possible.  I am 42, 6' & 350#, play a pretty good game (in short courses - don't like par 4s much over 350)  mostly because my drives aren't much over 225 (on a good day).  I have a rather slow swing speed.  Guess I really wanted to know if going with a senior flex might help my distance at all.  Again, I hit the driver consistently straight, just no distance.

I'd visit a club fitter and see what you can find out. Odds are there are better options out there for you than "replace the shaft with the same shaft" especially since it may be difficult to find that same shaft again.
