What are the differences between these 3 drivers, apart from the shape? I am thinking of a D1, but there are cheap 905R's on ebay for about half the price. What does everyone think. Will they suit my handicap. I generally drive 230-250 yards and very straight. (Over 8/14 fairways most games).

I hit the 905r for a whole round this weekend and struggled to keep it in the fairway. My driver is the 907D2 and I hit it much straighter than the 905r. I realize that the 905r is supposed to be easier to work from side to side but I found it difficult to control. I guess playing a bit more with it would help, but I like my 907D2 just fine.

After hitting dozens of drivers, I settled on the D1 a month or so ago.

I used to have a huge problem with slicin the ball, and have tried just about all of the "correction" drivers (R7, Burner Draw, ect), and the D1 seemed to be the best at keeping my shots straight.

I've been pretty happy with it, and the price has come down a bit since it was introduced.

I was considering the 905R a while ago...looked like a real deal in the used market. Then I hit a few in golf galaxy...I thought it had a big draw bias...almost impossible to go right with a 905r which may be a good thing for most people. I think that was the Titleist thought at the time they launched it. Loved the sound of it. I think you may want to look at 905t too. Great deals on ebay and all.

i am playing the 905r as well, and thinking about trying a d1. I usually either hit it straight, or fade right a bit. What i want to know is if i will be a little more consistent with a d1. I'm thinking about buying one just to try it.

    • They're not, though. Visual tricks is why so many people aim right. Hold your two arms out with your thumbs up. Put the right thumb at the target. Look at how far left your left thumb feels like it's aiming, yet… it's perpendicular to the target line. Your eyes are between your feet and the ball just like they're between your two thumbs.
    • Thanks Matt! Also, does this list have a lot of diversity of layout and scenery? I'd like to see as much as possible of what the RTJ trail has to offer
    • Swing check. Cons: The countertop drill hasn't taken yet. Not crazy about A5 to A6 hand path. Pros: Decent BS width at A2 and right elbow at A4. All in all, not terrible but meh..
    • Day 74 (14 Jul 25) - Late afternoon session w/9i, magnetic alignment stick, Divot board and hard foam balls.  Worked on getting the face square at setup and then returning to same through the swing.  The lines on the Divot Board served as referenced parallels for the alignment stick.  Did hit a few balls about 30 total - half with using the alighment stick on the club face and half without.  First time working with the magnetic alignment rod - really reveals when you have the face closed/open/etc.
