I've been Playing Golf for: 15 years
My current handicap index or average score is: 11
My typical ball flight is: fairly straight
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push shot with my irons

I am in need of some advice and help.  Just within the past two weeks I have developed a sudden tendency to severely push my irons.  I have never had this issue before and am not certain what I'm doing differently than two weeks ago.  It's embarrassing and is driving me crazy.  I golf three times a week and just can't enjoy golfing with my friends when I'm playing so poorly. I'm suddenly shooting in the 90's.  It seems that 95% of my iron shots on the course are big pushes.  Very frustrating!  I have uploaded four short videos of me on the driving range.  (Had to hit lots of balls to get a videos of straight shots!)   I have two videos each from the front and standing behind me.  Can someone please tell me what I'm doing differently.

By the way, I've never uploaded videos, etc or posted on a forum before so hopefully I've done this correctly.  Thanks for your patience, help and insight.

Welcome to The Sand Trap. I can't seem to pull your videos into Analyzer, but one thing I notice is your hips are sliding back in the back swing a bit. This can cause you to have to move them much more forward during the downswing. When this happens with me, I can get a push.

    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
