Does the new Topflight Gamersoft golf ball play the same as the previous generation?

also, anyone who replies, could you give me an opinion on whether or not these new gamers (I have not seen them yet), would be suitable for gaming older, persimmon?

I play the Gamer Soft often and have found no noticeable difference from the original version - to be honest I do not know if anything was changed.  For my swing (85-88) they are plenty long and are good on approach shots and around the greens, but of course do not spin like urethane. 

I starting playing golf 25 years ago at age 40 with hand me down persimmon woods and I believe the Gamer Soft would work well with them, although I have not tried them with persimmon.  They have a soft feel although somewhat stiffer than 2 piece low compression balls like the Softfli and SuperSoft, but the Gamer Soft is almost as long and performs better around the greens.

Let us know if you give the Gamer Soft a try with your persimmons and how they performed for you.

@NJpatbee Will do once I find out where I can get some. Closest big box is Walmart, then there is Dick's.

just checked. Dick's has these at $9.95 a dozen. What's up with that?  Definitely will see if they have any in stock, otherwise free shipping online. They also apparently have the prior version.

note: during my search, also see Precept Laddie X at around $17 for two dozen. I've used them and like them alot.

Got the gamers at Dick's for $9.95 doz. The store had them at $19.95, but I told them I saw it online at $9.95. He tried to look for match on his computer, but could not find it, however he took my word for it, and lowered the price accordingly. I got 2 dozen.  They also have the regular and old generation gamer and gamer soft for same price. That's a $10 savings per dozen for 3 piece ball.  I noted that a lot of golf balls from various manufacturers have low prices. Perhaps just holiday pricing?

I would imagine so. Hopefully you will get a reply from someone who has actually tried them. The cover is not Urethane, but a blend of some sort. I have only knocked a few around in back yard, but I like the feel and they seem to spin pretty well.

Yes, it was holiday pricing on all Top Flight balls. So, last year was a BOGO, during Black Friday and this year was 50% off. Yes, 10 bucks a dozen for a 3 piece ball, that has some spin - best deal ever.
