I'm currently trying to piece together a good set, keeping in mind my play-style (high handicapper with a rough slice). I need "game improvement" irons which are rather forgiving. Also, for whatever reason, I don't hit hybrid clubs particularly well, and my strong slice seems to be exaggerated when using the hybrid club I currently own. Therefore, rather than purchase a "complete set," which almost seem to have at least one hybrid club, I'd like to purchase a whole set of irons (3 - PW, at a minimum).

Does anyone have any experience with Wilson Pro Staff irons? If so, or if not and based off of your knowledge of the clubs, how would you rate them for novice use?

They meet my criteria, as they're oversized and relatively inexpensive. Here is a link to a new set (3 - PW) on Ebay for $100.00: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wilson-Mens-Pro-STAFF-Accuracy-Distance-Golf-Clubs-Set-LH-Left-Hand-NEW-/301738250883?hash=item4641005283%3Ag%3AGLYAAOSwNRdX9Fbf

Thanks in advance, y'all.

This looks like an older recreational (beginner to bogey) rated set. Should work for your purposes, but a more modern set in the same class would  be Wilson Profile XLS Package Set

Keep in mind that you will likely outgrow either set in your first full year or so.

Also note that NO club GI or SGI will stop your slice, or even reduce it to a controlled fade.

Only improving your swing can cure that!

I have played Wilson Staff and it depends on what you want.  If you are just looking for a starter set a Wilson or Top Flite would work.  For Wilson around 2007 was a turning point for their club development from the cheaper discount store offerings.

If you want a better iron their D series iron sets are nice (D9 - D200).  But, if Wilson was just picked due to the eBay listing above, and not because you really want that brand, there are all sorts of other used clubs that are as good, and maybe better.

For budget clubs, Wilson, Cobra, and Adams are good.  Used Ping is always a good choice, G10, G15...  It depends on what you want to pay.
