For those who do not know what this is, it is a type of bike racing we do/did in the fall. It is a cross between road racing, mountain biking and steeplechase. The races are between 45-60 minutes on a course  that loops around itself and has hills and barriers that you usually have to dismount and carry your bike. It was by far my favorite type of racing and is the best for spectators. It can be done in all terrain, but if mud or sand is involved, it can be extra fun and hard. Even snow and ice can be on courses.

The US Nationals are in Hartford. This years event made the new because of the mud. The Elites won't go off until this weekend, but the master racers had lots of fun. The race below is the 50-59 age group. :-P
