I found out this week that Sandwich will host another British Open. I went in  2011 and was so impressed with the whole atmosphere. US golfers would sign autographs for my kids and discuss baseball. Will going over again with the same group but will be taking our sons. Here is to new memories.

I played there last Summer and loved it. I know a lot of people complain about the random nature of bounces you can get on the fairways but I had an absolute blast.

I played in June and had a stretch of 4/5 holes where the wind suddenly got up, and at that point I gained a real appreciation for the skill of Links golf :-)

      New Maxfli Forged Irons - $800!

      I appreciate that you have taken the time to come back and update. Based on what was previously discussed I feel like the points were; forged, feel good, price, and possibly players distance. If you like the "looks" of those Maxfli irons and if price is a major point, then going straight to the source, Maltby, might make sense. Specifically, the TS3 iron. I was looking into this myself and found some reviews: Fit2YouGolf, Lets Play Thru, and ELITE FIT GOLF. As per your update I found the Maxfli to be ~$1300 fitted the way I wanted. Where the TS3 with the same fitting and assembled by Golfworks was less than $750. I suppose the downside is to actually hit the iron you will need to get lucky and find someone in your golf circle who will let you hit theirs or order a 6 or 7 iron to test. However, the way I look at that is being equivalent to some fittings. If you like the results and buy, then the fitting is free, otherwise the price of the fitting is a sunk cost. If name brand is important, then I submit for your consideration - THE BEST OVERALL IRON of 2024...... FACT !! 😉 A bit tongue in cheek that but also, I feel some good points were discussed.

      Day 467 - 2026-01-10 Practiced at Pinehurst every day I was there, and before Junior Elite this morning I got fifteen minutes of backswing checks in the mirror in.
