Hosting too high my driver

Hello in the past year i been hitting my driver to high and i cant get roll just about 5 to 10 yards. Im using m1 9.5 with fujikura pro tour spec 63x my club head is 115 to 116 and my attack angle is between +3 and +5 i usually hit on the Centre between 1.47 to 1.49, also my spin is to much im getting 3200 rpm average but i can get 320 carry. How do I lower my spin and reduce the height of the ball? I read that my shaft is for med/high spin and launch, is that the problem? Should i get a diferent shaft?

Im 6.2 with 0 hándicap

Thanks for the help

At what altitude are you hitting?

If I plug in the following numbers at the Flightscope Trajectory Optimizer (http://flightscope.com/products/trajectory-optimizer/):

  • 170 MPH ball speed (115*1.48)
  • 14° launch vert, 0° launch horiz
  • 900 ft. altitude
  • 2700 RPM spin
  • 0 sidespin

I get 297 yards carry. With 3200 RPM I get 293.

These numbers aren't adding up. I can't put any numbers in - including 17°/1700 RPM - to get you more than 0.3 yards over 300 carry unless I jack the altitude up above 900 feet (and even then, at a mile high - 5280 feet - you're just getting 322 carry with 170/17/1700).

Also, look at this: http://www.pgatour.com/stats/stat.02407.html. The highest apex point on average is 131'. The median value is several feet over 100'.

Even with 2000 feet and 17°/1700 RPM at 170 MPH, I have you at just over 305 yards of carry.

If you're getting 320, somehow, I wouldn't worry too much about spin.

The key to reducing spin is to reduce the spin loft - the difference between your dynamic loft and the AoA. Make that gap smaller. Less loft can do it. But then you have to worry about launching the ball too low.

Play around with the numbers yourself: http://flightscope.com/products/trajectory-optimizer/ .
