I know there have been a few threads on playing with spouses, but what I am interested in is how do those that do play with their spouse handle the kids while they are out?

We have family in town but we start to feel extremely guilty for asking them to watch our girls every weekend so we can play. Even when we spread it around the family we still feel that way.

Just curious how others handle this. Thinking about taking our 5 1/2 year old with us and letting her drive the cart/putt around but we still need to find a place for the 1 1/2 year old.

I would try to stop feeling guilty unless your family resents babysitting. My daughter did OK at around 5 doing what you say. I wouldn't count on more than nine holes with that one. Never tried it with a 1 1/2 year old. I don't think I want to. Best of luck.

You can't bring the 1 1/2 year old to the corse? If people are using push/pull carts, I see no reason why you can't push a stroller (unless your course has specific rules against it). You probably need a jogging stroller with huge wheels, which your wife will push. And you'll carry one stand bag and push the other bag on a cart. Your 5 yr old can carry the diper bag.
If not, how about a Baby Bjorn? Ha, I'd like to see that golf swing.

I'm not too sure, but I think most courses have a minimum age requirement to be allowed on the course. IMO, liability is the main concern. Nonetheless, check the rules of the courses you play at and go from there.

As far as babysitting is concerned, sit down with them and have a discussion. Try to work out a deal that works for both of you to avoid any feelings of being used or guilt.

Thankfully for my wife and I, my older son is 13. We have been leaving him and the 9 year old alone for about a year and a half. I figure that kids start sitting at 12-13 anyway. It saves us an extra $20+ each week on league nights.
