I really like fast greens, but I do get frustrated at hilly courses that significantly influence the break. Places near the shore are often like this. These are only fun if you have a local knowledge by playing the course numerous times or you have a caddy that your trust.

I don't mind tiered greens, but if more than 1 or 2 of the pins are set on the slope, I think that is really bad. You can protect a short hole with a tough pin placement on the slope, but not on the longer holes.

The thing today is what ever course you play you are going to have to play under the conditions of the combined EGO of the clubs leadership. Which today means fast greens. It's the great equalizer. Now if I'm playing a tournement and the greens are a joke I take the approach that It's the same conditions for everyone and I take it personal that I'm going to beat the sob's no matter what. Does it always work? Maybe not but tuning your attitude this way always makes you raise your level. Yes I would go back I like the challange....bwgolfer
