My nine year old son and I were playing a round at a goat track while on fall vacation at Gulf Shores, Al. This is something we usually do together and it is a precious time to me. We usually play a match were if he gets less than double my score on a hole he wins the hole. We go out of our way to let anyone play through b/c as you can imagine we play fairly slow with him teeing off from the ladies tees. On this day four retired gentlemen were playing and skipping around quite a bit to keep from waiting. On the par 4 9th hole they teed off while we were putting out and were waiting in the fairway while we walked off the green. While we were still on the green a bladed shot came between me and my son. The shot flew the green by 30 yards so you can imagine what an impact to the noggin would have felt like. I was livid. I took my son to the clubhouse and told the pro what happened then asked if he would watch my son for a few minutes while a spoke to them. I explained that there was a very fine hospital in town that was perfectly capable of removing a 460cc driver from any of their &*#$%. When I went back in to get my son they walked in behind me and told the pro what I had said. The pro told them that I was wrong that there were actually 2 hospitals in town capable of that feat and if it were him and his son they would be half way there by now. They promptly got in the car and left.
