  1. This game is sooooo addictive.
  2. Driver, 3 wood, hybrid, 3-PW, SW, LW, putter...14.
  3. 38-40=78. Very happy with how I played, especially the front nine. Had two birdies, and lipped out a 12-footer on 9 for another one. The back nine had more errant shots, but my short game bailed me out. If only I could get some midrange putts to drop...
  4. If you're using Firefox, it won't work. Try it in IE, it should work.
  5. I've said that about a couple rounds so far this year. Gotta love it when your short game bails you out.
  6. The HiBore XL Tour is slightly open, I believe.
  7. The Wii version is so money.
  8. I am highly opinionated! The question I have is where the column ideas are generated. Do you come up with a theme and then the writer runs with it, or is it up to the writer's whim?
  9. I like to ace a par-3 each round. :) Seriously though, I guess mine is to never start the first hole with a brand new ball. Also, if it's a reasonably serious round (i.e. with boss/coworkers, group outing, betting with friends), I have to wear blue.
  10. 42-40 for an 82 in a veritable windstorm. Since it was on a links-style course, it was a passable approximation of a British Open. I opened double-bogey-double-double on the front 9, but followed that with par-par-birdie-par-par to finish out the front.
  11. I will second that. It's amazing how things can fall apart so quickly.
  12. Where in the world did you hear that?
  13. I tend to go with Titleist products because they look and feel right to me.
  14. I think the obvious answer is that he's an alien.
  15. On Sunday playing with my friend for his birthday, there was a 420 par-4 dogleg right. The scorecard gave a distance to the dogleg of 250. Knowing that I hit farther than that, I decided to play it just across the corner and use the natural fade that I seem to have. Pured it to about 70 yards short. Sweet.
  16. Millard North High School - Omaha, NE - 2003
  17. 42-38=80. I took my friend out for a round on his birthday yesterday at a course we'd never played. It was the polar opposite of Saturday's round: ballstriking was mediocre, but short game was better. Putting was still very good, including a 20-footer for my only birdie of the day on 17. I was really hoping to post my first round ever in the 70's, but opening double-double on the back side kinda ruined that. I've put up two good (for me) scores in a row, but I'm not happy because I'm leaving too many strokes out there.
  18. I did this yesterday. 405 yard par 4, nutted the drive out to about 330. Pulled the wedge out and left it 10 yards short of the green :(
  19. 41-41=82. While I should be ecstatic with that score, I'm not. My ballstriking was good, and my putting was excellent, but my short game was awful (normally the best part of my game) and I hit driver every hole (except the par 3's). I wanted to do that because I'm still getting used to the new one, but had I been smart and used appropriate clubs to keep it in the fairway, I could have easily thrown a 78 up.
  20. Ick. I played nine on Tuesday in the mid-30's and drizzle.
  21. Last summer, I started working at a company right before their annual golf outing. Everyone in the local offices met up at a country club for 3 hours of meetings in the mornings and a round of golf after lunch (It was especially cool because right before we headed off, the regional manager gave the bar his credit card and said any drinks we wanted on the course were on him :)) Anyway, there were various pin prizes, closest tee shot on a par 3, longest drive, etc. On the 7th hole, it was closest third shot on a par 5, 539 yards, slightly downhill. I had honors and nutted my drive, got a good bounce to probably 330 or so yards out on the left side of the fairway. I got to the ball, pulled a 5-iron, and waited for the group on the green to finish. My boss, who was my riding partner, pulls up beside me and asks if I'm going for it. I say yes, he bets me $20 I can't put it on the green. I accept and get ready. I caught it absolutely pure, and I turn around and ask if he wants to pay now or after the round. He watches the ball and I see his eyes just about pop out...it ends up about five feet from the hole. Sank the putt, put the pin prize in the hole, and got two dozen Pro-V1's :)
  22. 32 on a little 9-hole pitch and putt down the road. Should've been a 29 if not for a couple of skulled wedges.
  23. Square to square. Like a pendulum.
  24. Simple, really. Get to a single digit handicap.
  25. Wear what you want. As long as you meet the course's dress code, you should be good to go.
