What is your favorit club in your bag?
Gary replied to tomvk77's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Whatever works the best when I'm playing on the field. Mostly my Cleveland CG 15 50 degree -
08 TT Roadster + golf bag sits perfectly in the trunk.

Anyone owns or tried the DART Putter? The alignment feels better than my current two ball. But takes time to get used to the new alignment method. Any comments?

Welcome! I am a beginner too and I started in aug 2010, I practiced very often and recently broke 90. You should consider getting hybrid clubs as they are easier to hit than long irons. Good to know that you have good driving accuracy. Practice short games (e.g. chipping) will help you improve a lot Good luck! P.S. I am a big fan of Czech football player Tomas Rosicky!

What part of your game do you think is most important.
Gary replied to EverythingGolf's topic in Welcome, Everyone
Couldn't agree more! It's more important than a perfect swing for me. A bad hole leads to another and so on. A good mentality is needed to conquer that. just my 2 cents. -
Please get a convertible. You will thank me when you drive around LA top down.

Thanks dude. I am probably going to pay all at once instead of getting loans. I just graduated and have not found a job yet (I am now a freelancer). And my brother just applied to the college I went to in LA but not sure if he will get in. So I think I will get an answer on the exact location in about 3 months. I would love to move out of downtown LA because I've been living there for roughly 3 years. West LA would probably great.

Since I will be spending a few more years in LA plus my brother is moving over for school, my parents are considering getting a cheap condo and I will just pay them rent. Good news for me because rent has been hefty for me and it makes more sense to buy one for the long run. I rather spend money on green fees. However, I know NOTHING about buying properties, please forgive me. I am looking at a small studio apartment in Downtown LA which costs about $130k. Nothing luxury or fancy. Besides that $130k, what other tax & expenses do I need to spend? What's the estimate total damage on my wallet? I heard down payment is usually 30%. What are the financing options and interest rate? (But I will probably pay all at once) Thanks a lot!

It's the problem of the iPad's Safari. Although everything is functional, it's quite hard to navigate and sometimes frustrating to start or reply to a post on iPad.

Just graduated in Dec and received an email from school notifying me that my diploma is in the mail. Not particularly excited for it because it's just a piece of paper, but it's something I worked hard for over the past four years so I've been wondering what to do with it besides using its copy to apply for jobs or grad school. What did you guys do with your diplomas? Framed it? Stored in a vault? Scanned it? Threw it away? Also, is it required to bring the original copy to job interviews? Thanks!

Just curious. How many wedges do you have in total? And how many do you usually bring on course? How do you utilize each of your wedge? Here's my line up. Nike Sumo2 Pw Nike Sumo2 Aw Taylormade XFT 56 Taylormade XFT 60 Cleveland CG15 52 I use my Sumo2 wedges for full swing lay up shots, they are from my old Nike set. Taylormade 56 for most recovery shots, bunkers, sometimes half swing within 50 yards. Taylormade 60 for deep bunkers and short chips. Just purchase a cg 15 to replace my Nike Aw. And planning to get a Ping G15 pitching wedge because all my irons are Ping G15. My old Nike sumo2 shafts are slightly longer that my Pw and Aw not compatible with my new Ping irons. I might also get rid of my Taylormade 60 because I find it is a club I can live without. What about you guys?

I went to the game vs Bucks. Lakers played worse than a high school team. Haven't watch a single Lakers game since they got trashed by the Heats. Rather spend my time at the driving range!

Welcome! I went to Edinburgh last year for Fringe! I love the city!

Agree, you really need to go visit the campus and get the feeling of it. Talk to current students on campus to ask about their school life and experience! Th environment itself is the most important! Because you gonna spend the next four years there and it will be one of your most important chapters in your life. I am international student, so when I applied for college I only relied on rankings, I didn't have the luxury to fly over for a campus tour. I ended up having a very hard time adjusting to the lifestyle in SoCal, even though I go to a very good school. Have fun in college, try to meet more people in your freshmen year. Friends I met in freshmen year are usually my best friend throughout my college life. Also, just follow your heart and passion, don't be afraid to make mistake, make full use of the resource that your school offers. Congratulations and good luck!

Rain bothers me a lot because I need to readjust my putting stroke on a drenched putting green.

Go SC. Fight on.

Soft box points directly at the person/object you are shooting, whereas umbrellas are placed side by side to the person/object. I don't have a soft box, but my friend does, because he needs powerful lighting for outdoor shoots (he would put two flashes inside the softbox to achieve max power). Yea commander mode = your flash(es) are "slaves" which you use a radio device or your internal flash to trigger. It's freaken cool. You should try. Any photos of your lovely baby to share with us?

Use f/1.8 only when you are low light condition which you have no choice. Usually the widest open aperture won't give you the sharpest photo. For example, on my Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8, usually I go one to two stops down to get the sharpest pic (e.g. f/4) You don't need to go beyond ISO 800 when you have an external flash. For what I do - I shoot with Shutter Priority Mode, at about ISO 200, ignore the light meter and let my photo underexpose. Because the flash light will compensate the underexposure. Try different shutter speed to get the best pic. I don't use Manual Mode. I stick with TTL and Commander Mode. Commander Mode allows you to use your external flash light remotely and create harsh shadows. Yes. Strobes = flash lights. Soon you will find yourself spending a lot of money on soft box, diffuser, umbrellas, light stands, backdrop... Have fun! I learned a lot from this site when I was a beginner, check it out. http://www.digital-photography-school.com/
