That's handy - missed another GIR

Dropped 2 full points to 8.4. I had to career rounds back to back, a 74 and a 75. My lessons seem to be taking hold.

My round today was truly up and down. Shot 59 on the first nine and 39 on the second nine. I was really proud that I kept my composure while recording a 10 on a par 4 and a 15 on a par 5 the first nine. Funny thing is the money ended up even at the end of the day.

I saw his press conference today and when asked about his driver distance he said he had put on 3 kg of muscle in the last eight weeks. I know he is young and has the best trainers, but that seems like a lot of muscle in a short time. It is obvious he has put an emphasis on fitness the last couple of years and because I really like the kid I hope he is doing it correctly.

Up again to 10.4. I keep bouncing around between 9 an 11.

Still haven't received mine yet, maybe today. I am interested to see if this will allow me to play a full round without significant pain.
-
I still have not got mine either. I am starting to think it went

I bought the G-25's last July as my retirement present to myself. This was a great purchase on my part. They are solid and forgiving, yet you can tell if you miss hit the shot. I would suggest you make sure to get fit for whichever clubs you decide.

Golf etiquette - why is it improper to laugh at the misfortunes of others?
rft63 replied to Michael Lee's topic in Golf Talk
I laugh at myself all the time when I hit a bad shot. It is my way of letting it go, so I don't get overly upset. In a serious round with others I would not laugh at someone else's shot unless they did so first. -
Didn't get mine today either. Hopefully Monday, this issue with my back is really starting to get to me.

New revision out this morning and it is back into the single digits. 9.6, it is funny how one really great round can lower the handicap. I need to work to keep it there.

My pain is due to nerve issues, but is directly in this area. I would be interested in trying this product.

Up to a 10.1, but I am still working on getting used to a change in grip and alignment. When they work they work well, but when I slip back to old habits it gets pretty ugly. I really want to be able to stay in the single digits.

I have no problem with removing trees from a golf course if it helps the course or they no longer serve their original intent. I play at a small town club in Central Texas that was built over 50 years ago. There are trees in the middle of several fairways that would have been in play for a long drive years ago, but now they are right in the landing area of a well struck drive center of the fairway. Two of them are so large that the best play now is to hit to the side of them into an adjacent fairway.

One thing I always worry about are those people who drive along with their left foot hanging outside of the cart. There is a member at the course I play who has a very bad limp and I found out it is because he ran himself over with a golf cart. He was hanging his left foot outside and hit a bump. His foot caught on the ground and it pulled him out of the cart. The cart ran over his ankle and leg. Surgery and a stay in the hospital. Even though driving the cart can be enjoyable we need to remember to be careful.

Today was my first experience with tournament golf. It was day one of our two day Club Championship. I shot an 88. Not my best day on the course, but it was really only two holes that did me in. I took an 8 and a 9 on two separate par fours, two OB shots on one and a lost tee ball on the other. Normally these two holes would ruined the entire day for me, but for some reason I was able to keep it together. I went par par after the 8 and birdie par after the 9. In the cruelest twist of fate several of us decided to play a few extra holes when we were done and I actually found my "lost" tee shot. All I could do was laugh. I am in the middle of the pack in my flight and tomorrow is a new day. Hope springs eternal.

I have started wearing long sleeve Dri-Fit T-shirts by Hanes this year. They are fairly cheap and come in a multitude of colors. I live in Central Texas and it gets warm, but overheating has not been a problem. I did this because I don't like sunscreen on my arms, I do use it on my legs and the parts of my face not protected by a wide brim hat. I started having "spots" taken off at my last physical. I may not look cool in my long sleeves and hat, but hopefully I can keep from having to have more "spots" taken off.

My changing expectations have driven me to seek professional help, I had my first ever official golf lesson yesterday. Now I really see how much I have to work on. Maybe one day I can shoot that even par nine like you did.

One very funny and ironic part of this game, at least to me, is as I get better we realize how far I have to go. Just the other day I felt like I scraped the ball around and shot an 81. After the round I was disappointed because I felt I didn't hit the ball well. A year ago I would have been telling everyone how good a round I had and shot an 81. It seems like the better I get the more I realize their is so much more to learn. I understand that as a 10 handicap there is lots of room for improvement, but it just seems ironic that the better I get the more I realize how much I stink.

9.4 to a 9.9. At least I can say I was a single digit for at least a month. This revision has seen scores fluctuate very wildly, good thing I have a lesson scheduled for tomorrow.

Another one of those inconsistent rounds, 86, 46-40. The front nine is the easier of the two, but not when you hit 2 tee shots OB, ended up with triple on each one of those holes. I am hitting everything on the toe and losing a bunch go distance.
-
78 today at my home course. This is ten shots better than yesterday. Not real sure what is going on with these big swings in scores.
-
78 on my home course yesterday. I still had 2 penalty strokes, two balls in the water on the par fives.
-
86 on an out of town course (71.3/127). Having issues with my tee shots lately. This cost me several strokes today with a triple and 4 doubles.
