  1. And the freaking mailman shot a lower score than me today.
  2. Received my copy today and I am very interested in beginning to read it. Interestingly, the packaging envelope arrived open and the book appeared to have fallen out and been returned to the inside because while not damaged in any way, it was dusty. I hope the USPS employees enjoyed it and that their handicaps will drop as a result.
  3. Ok so yesterday I am finally able top get out on the course. You'd have thought that my little corner of NC was actually in Eire or something. Anyway, fro giggles an grins, I decided to put the theory to a very informal test. I made bogey or an even bigger mess of the holes where I "purposefully" tried to hit it at the flag and was one under on the ones where I purposefully hit to the center of the green.
  4. The Mike Curtis "incident"
  5. Unfortunately for Wie, anyone who can hold a putter in her hands is most likely a better putter that she is.
  6. For Bubba to say something like this wouldn't surprise me at all. He seems like he could easily be a Princess sleeping on a pea.
  7. I do want to add that the only reason I want the ball to fly "reasonably" straight is because that is my stock shot. I have never drawn or faded the ball all that much. It flies relatively straight when I put a good swing on it. When I am not playing well, my bad miss is a nasty "quail hook" where the ball only gets about 20 feet off the ground and then scampers off into the left woods.
  8. I want my ball to fly relatively straight and that is what is does when I am playing well. Don't care if it leaks a little either way. I can hit the big hook or the big slice but only want to do it if something is my way.
  9. He was my "C" pick this week in TST fantasy golf.
  10. Wife and I started a new round of P90X today. Did "Chest and Back" and "Ab Ripper".
  11. Fair enough but you don't have to yell. I misspoke twice in one post. Math is hard.
  12. Don't worry Dave. Ask him who owed the old guy money after the first time we played golf together.
  13. You mean you've actually read it? WTF are we supposed to do about that?
  14. I have some really good ones that Mike could show. My swing has gone from looking like someone killing a snake with a hoe to something more along the lines of a golfer.
  15. Had talked to Mike previously about one of the first runs on the visors and it came today. Looks great and is well made. Looking forward to the hat.
  16. This will not be pretty.
  17. Keep this up an pretty soon mvmac will have to get a tax ID number.
  18. Didn't work so well saying that to my wife just now......
  19. I changed my mind about it as I understood the rule, the events, and the decision better. I started out thinking he should have been DQ'd. I confused one of the "decisions" concerning the rule with the rule itself. Ultimately, to me, the committee made the right call.
  20. I'll be happy to buy one of the "non-fitted".
  21. At no time have I thought or meant to imply that Tiger "cheated". That's why I said that would be "hard to swallow".
  22. Ok. Now I understand it totally. I WAS confusing the decision with the rule and interpreted it (one of the decisions) as part of the rule. Good. I am straight on how it all happened now. And now that Tiger's particular situation has occurred, I would imagine that this scenario will be included in the new decisions part of the rule book to help in future cases.
  23. Stretch's argument that the rule (33 - 7) states clearly ignorance of the rules is no reason for the committee to intervene on the player's behalf continues to be the part that, to me at least, can't be explained away no matter how badly some of us might want Tiger to be in the tournament. Why doesn't 6 - 1 (A player and caddie are responsible for knowing the rules) supersede any parts of 33-7 in this case? I am confused about how 33 - 7 could be applied. Also, the alternative that Tiger "willfully" broke the rule is hard to swallow.
  24. If I understand the scenario you are describing, it would work out like this. Since you didn't like your ball being in a divot and then took the unplayable, you'd be hitting your next shot with two penalty strokes added. One for the OB (plus the distance part of the penalty), and then one more penalty stroke for taking the unplayable.
  25. Just confirmed that they are using the "HDTV two shot penalty" to keep Tiger from DQ. Looks like "fudge" to me.
