Haha I know. I was really hoping he would have made his par putt, but oh well at least I got one.

Tigers done for but I think anyone within 5 shots still has a chance. A couple of great rounds out there Webb breaks the course record on to be beat 4 hours later by Dufner.

Feel. I have no idea about swing path, angle of attack, other swing mechanic jargon. When someone tells me that I'm too steep or flat all I know is what the ball did and where it ended up. I can fix any abnormality in a couple of holes.

I voted A. Imagine playing it out of the left bunker with the water just behind the hole, could be interesting. I agree with the above posts for C. It will lead to players playing it safe (boring).

One shouldn't judge based off of one tee shot that you make. Like you said you could have hit a drive 100 yards and still par the hole. I have done this a couple of times, things happen its golf. I would say however if you consistently do not reach the fairway (more than 3 times) or are taking woods off the par 3's then you need to play up. I think the clubs you use on the par 3's are a good indicator of what tees you should play. You should be able to hit a mid to long iron into 3 out of 4 greens (7,6,5). There might be a par 3 that requires a hybrid of some sort and thats ok.

I do I have a club I tend to go to when the ball is on tops of a pile of pretty good size rocks or in between tree roots. Its a used cleveland 49* wedge I got for $20. It happens to be one of my favorite clubs to hit in any type of situation. I'm stubborn when it comes to taking a drop, I will always play it as it lies if I think there is a slight chance I can advance it or get it on the green. Just the other day I hit my ball into a creek and it landed on a rocky island out of the water. The ball was sitting down around some bigger slate rocks and golf ball sized rocks as well. Since I was in the hazard I could move any of the rocks to free the path of the club so I took my beater wedge and hit it greenside on my way to make par. There actually wasn't any damage even though I drilled the rocks and hurt my wrist a bit. I think it takes alot to break a club, unless you Rory or Schwartzel lol.

If I didn't warm up I would hit two off the first but would always play the first no matter what.

I agree that a tournament atmosphere is a lot different. The way I try to prevent myself from performing poorly is to putt out no matter what in the casual rounds. II still miss the 12" putts whether its in a casual round or tourney round. Either way its frustrating.

So I was wondering how does the regular amateur qualify for the US Open. Could someone explain to me how one goes about qualifying. I'm sure its not as easy as to just sign up for a regional qualifier. Its always been a goal of mine to just play in a regional qualifier, I'm not counting on ever qualifying for the real thing. What steps do I need to take in order to get to one of the regional qualifiers.

I have been to the Sunday round the last two years and will be going again to the final round this year. I was there for Tigers shot on 16 but my buddy and I thought it would come down to the 18th so after Tiger hit his tee shot and we saw that it was deep and buried in the back rough we thought he would par the hole. So we left in a hurry to get a good view of the 18th because the fairways and greens were 7-9 rows deep at that time. While we were walking down the fairway on 18 we hear this tremendous roar behind us. My buddy and just looked at each other and said well shoot he just chipped in for birdie. It was the loudest roar I have ever heard there. I would have thought I was in the Shoe watching a football game. Hopefully the weather holds off for the weekend as there is a chance for storms. My favorite holes are the second shot on the par 5 5th, sitting on the hill at the par 3 12th, the approach to the short par 4 14th, and the putts on 18. A new pavilion was built around 18 which I think will be very nice and will accommodate patrons and players much better. Before the foot traffic around 18 green and the tee boxes to 1 and 10 were terrible, very crowded and the players had very little room to walk. Hopefully this new pavilion will clear this up.

Once I pull the the club I will stand 3 feet behind the ball with my body facing the target (perpendicular). I will take two 1/4 shots just to get the feel of impact with the ground. Then I point my club straight out at my intended target and follow it straight down to the ground till I see a loose impediment that is in front of my golf ball. Then I come up to address the ball making sure the club face is in line with the loose impediment I picked out and swing. All in all it takes anywhere from 10-15 seconds.

I will be at The Memorial in Dublin, Ohio for the final round Sunday. I was there Sunday last year and saw Tigers amazing chip on 17. Hope there is more fireworks this year.

Shot 74 +2. Started with a 40 on the front nine with a triple bogey and a chip in birdie. Then went 34 on the back. Had a stretch on the back where I went birdie, eagle, birdie. Pretty exciting day minus the 5-6 terrible shots I hit today.

any thoughts on Scotty Cameron Futura Putter?

I wasn't a big fan. Couldn't seem to get the ball to roll straight off the face. -
Does Shot Shape Change Distance?
Aquaguru replied to Jakester23's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Its the same way for me. When I hit a fade I will usually take one club longer. When I hit the draw it usually goes 15 yards farther so I club down one. Its probably because I hit the ball more square when I try to draw it. My natural miss with the irons is to draw it and when it happens it is always long. -
My opinion about the Tiger Sergio shot is this. Sergio and Tiger were 50 yards away from each other so thats already a long distance. If you just watch the replay of when Sergio hits his shot it sounds like the noise came after he made contact. But when you watch the split screen you can see that the noise was well before Sergio's shot. There is no way that either player could have helped the situation (Tiger is playing ready golf/Sergio is focused on his shot) its just one of those things in golf that happen. But the blame that nobody seems to be talking about should be on the spectators. The fans should know that Sergio is about to hit and should not be yelling during another players routine. You can even see Tiger make a gesture towards the fans to be quiet when he pointed in Sergio's direction.

So I was just wondering, how does the PGA Tour come up with the final round pairings. Today at THE Players there are 3 guys at the top. Lingmerth I believe had the low round out of the 3 and Sergio had the worst round out of the 3. I would think that Tiger and Lingmerth would be in that final group. What is the official way that they make the pairings?

What to do with these 1988 Ping Eye 2's?
Aquaguru replied to YounWha's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Play them. I still do and I'm sure the clubs are 20 plus years old.
