  1. I've played either a Sonartec MD or a Hogan for a few years. Lately I got a Srixon AD on a whim and really like it. I still like the others. I guess I'm just a club 'ho.
  2. My wife started two years ago. She's still a beginner, but gets very frustrated at her inability to hit perfect shots. She's way too hard on herself. She is really good about understanding that golf with the guys doesn't include her. She just wants to play with me on weekends after I've played with my friends. It's not bad at all because I get to play 27-36 holes that way. She will get out with one of her friends after work and play as well.
  3. I sold some in the classified section HERE. Worked fine for me.
  4. A friend gave one a few years ago. I've never played it, but I often wonder if I should try it sometime. I don't carry fairway woods and could easily set up my bag for one by eliminating either my 2 or 3 hybrid, or perhaps something else, maybe my 3 iron. Has anyone tried one? Did it save any shots? I would guess a full wedge swing with a 64 would carry 60-70 yards, base on my average carry with a 60.
  5. For me it's the darn putter, especially on birdie putts. If I have 6 or 7 birdie putts between 5-10 feet in a round, I might make one of them. If they were par putts, I make half.
  6. Here's what has worked for me in that situation, if I'm not confident I play a punch or a knock down. I somehow believe a knocked down 4 or 5 iron is laser guided. It's a simpler swing

I second the Eccos. I also like the better FootJoys. I had a set of Gel Fusions that fit like slippers, yet worked very well.

  9. Neutral is usually thought of as 2 knuckles. Strong grips can encourage a hook, a slice and a flip. Also, it's common to see a strong grip and an underplane swing which encourages pushes and push slices, as well as once again flips. The tip off is thin shots.
  10. I think you might find that a more neutral grip can allow you to do more. It's not an easy change, but I've always found strong grips can cause a number of problems.
  11. Send a pm with your email address
  12. I tried to do that. The document is over the size limit for attachments on this board. There is no link. Believe me, if I had a way to share the information without having to email it, I would rather do that. Any suggestions? If anyone wants it, pm me with your email address.

    2008 Masters

I heard some guy named Woods has a good chance.
  14. That UST fitting application is very nice.
  15. If you want to eliminate your slice, let me know. I can send you an article that will absolutely eliminate a slice and have you hitting the ball farther too!
  16. Remove yes, clean no.
  17. Erik, the post was meant for anyone who wanted to increase lag pressure ie. having a more forward shaft attitude through impact. I agree, the Coke machine thing is tough to do.
  18. Several people have suggested playing from the shortest tees possible on a regulation course for practice for a few reasons: It's a great way to push through your personal mental limits. Say you want to break 80. Keep playing from those short tees, until you can consistently break 80, then move back a set of tees and play those until you can do it there. Then keep moving back a step, achieving your goals until you reach whatever tees you normally play. Short game practice, because playing from short tees should be much like an executive course. Course management because short tees totally take any concern about length out of the equation. I know we all believe it should be easy from those short tees, but if your course management or short game are not where you'd like, you might find you don't score as well as you think you would. It will really show you what to work on, I think...
  19. Erik, The kind of lag you are describing is created by keeping pressure between the shaft and the right forefinger at the first knuckle. This is will creat more of a "hands leading the clubhead" through impact. The easiest way to feel this is to remove your right thumb from the grip when you practice. You will feel pressure in the aforementioned area, and the hand needs to "keep up" with the shaft. After ingraining the feel, try to recreate that feel while practicing with a normal grip. Another way is to practice with something like a Coke machine behind you (down the line) so that the clubhead would just barely touch the front of it on the backswing. On the downswing, miss the Coke machine. If anyone wants them, I have several more ways to practice and ingrain that feel/move.
  20. i live on a course, I get about 4-6 balls left in my yard every day in season. Unless they are balls I play (Srixon Z-URC or Z-URS), I give them to friends. Mosy are pretty good balls, lots of Callaway HX Tours, ProV1s, ProV1xs and Bridgestone B330/B330S. Very few cheap balls (Top Flite, Pinnacle etc.) I usually save 3 or 4 ProV1s in case I play in an alternate shot event, as my partner plays those.

Now, I'll be the first to tell anyone I can't imagine seeing much difference between 9300 and 9700 rpms, but the X spins more!
  22. I don't believe it's really timing. Timing can hide what's going on, but it sounds like a flip to me. Fix the flip and the problem probably goes away.
  23. Hmm....For the Z-OS and Unix, I didn't mean for personal use. I meant to support thousands of users, say a 50 TB Oracle Application.
  24. Actually, it the opposite. For a lower ball flight, you want a higher kick point.
  25. That would be a two stroke penalty. In other words, if you do that and didn't take the penalty, you cheated.
