  1. Go to utube and google seve's short game videos. He was smooooth. If you subscribe to one of the golf magazines read these. Great info. Biggest thing is to watch or read what you are looking at many times. You must ingrain the moves in your head. One expensive lesson or video will not help . Read it over and over and remember if you do not belong to a golf club and paying for buckets of balls most public golf courses don't charge for the short game areas.
  2. Is the event sponsored by the AJGA. Junior golf is awesome. We had a AJGA event at the club I work at last year could not beleive the quality of the golf. It was not an invitational but these kids didn't seem to care. If you are hooked on thegame get into as many of these events as possible. Many kids have great skills but are mush whenit comes to the mind game. Good Luck!
  3. Toss me an address and i will set you up with a few dozen!
  4. Did any of you see the new Taylor Made removable insert for wedges? I heard they are about $40 to replace the face when they are tired. I am not going to switch but what a great idea.
  5. I work at a private club our pros will give nothing away but the new 10 minute freebie the PGA is encouraging. I am a 12 handicap every now and then I can pick up a bad technic that maybe 25-30 handicapper has tell them what they are doing wrong. If it works they are thrilled 1st comment is hey! that is worth $50. We laugh and move on. Pros should be more willing to give 5-10 min. and maybe people will take more lessons.
  6. Golfers, I just watched some of the best golf up close that you will ever see. Northest amature, if you are near RI u need togo over to see this golf tournament. You can get up close and personal to these young men see some great golf. Top notch college kids/ high schoolers. Just finished with Pete Uihlein smoking the wet course and shooting a 261, 19 birdies, 1 eagle and 6 bogies.!
  7. Glock you sound like my Grandmother!
  8. Tour Spoon, isn't that what I am looking for ? That good bite on the ball. I work at a high end golf club and new prov's are not a problem no one dare go in the woods and high grass the dreaded TICK!
  9. Just looked on the team titleist site. Not impressed! If the club technology hasn't changed much I would by the 710. The 712 looks like a razor or a taylor Made. Too loud for me!
  10. I am a 12 handicap and recently picked up 2 new BV spin milled wedges. Could not believe the action on my short shots. I thought it was me miss hitting the ball last 2 years. My present wedges where 3-4 years old. Is there some one out in the golf world that reconditions older wedges. I can't afford buying new wedges every 2 years.
  11. Gentlemen and Ladies if you are out there, this has been undoubtedly one of the most interesting threads I have read. I would like you to post your racial profile as it seems some have crossed the line in their tone to what, who, will, is Mr. tiger . Absolutely a great golfer but as a human being he is a robot built by his father and the media. The old golfers where real men with real life problems. This young man was warped in to his present position from the day he appeared on the Mike Douglas show. The man does not know how to be a normal person. His wife was a white trophy that he cared nothing about. Life is about real people with real lives, even our own lives this why we defend the the greats of old . You cheat at golf you are a scum bag, fix your handicap , use the foot wedge you are no better. The man puts his legs into his jeans 1 leg at a time like you and me. I enjoy my Tuesday night golf with my 11 buddies and we don't cheat lie or boast. Just enjoy life golf and our friendship. Something Mr. Woods does not have a life!
  12. 1st thought is that you are to far away from the ball. Snuggle up nice and tight. Make sure your arms are straight down. When you swing just trust the club and keep your head down. I had the same problem, spent a lot of time at the range and worked it out. Be patient VB's are the best on the market. I have 54,56,58,60.
  13. TPC Sawgrass. you must have a fore caddy so when you hit your ball over the water down the right side and he isn't paying attention .Bingo your 1st lost ball. Would not shut up about how good he was. He even stepped over the dead half eaten bird approaching the 10th tee box. Oh another story and another lost ball. I went down with 30 guys. $250 ea. The place was burnt to a crisp! Veti cut fairways in the sun no watering. It was a joke! We asked if we could leave a camera out on the 17th hole for each group to take a shot .What do we get a picture of someones slong! Best part. It is late in the day and we get a bite to eat. We ask if it is ok to split a club sandwich between 2 people , no problem extra $10 and they cut the pickle in half. Don't ever waste your money. nothing special about this joint!
  14. The Great Narragansett Lager, Made on Honor Sold on metit is back! 16oz. six pack $5.40
  15. Right on brother its all in his head. Maybe a little of the short game. I have no sympathy!
  16. Mr. Nuck, you are the tool. We go out and play our little game for enjoyment. If its the shoes, hats, bags clubs that help me to enjoy the day why do you give a rats ass? I am surronded by the Titleist community down here in the south coast of MA. We do everything we can to care abouth the people and the jobs that go with it. You probably suck on the Nike nipple.
  17. Bay Club Mattapoisett ma. 16th hole missed green low and left. Could see top half of the pin Thru a 60* flop up at the pin from about 20 yards out and rolled in for the bird.
  18. Hi army62, I had the same problem, 11 handicap but slicing and fading a lot. My local pro gave me this easy fix. Have you ever driven a motor bike. You roll your wrist to throttle the bike up. Do this with your left wrist as you start your turn or swing. swing easy and it will help you release the ball. My drives are dead straight and 20-30 yards longer. Keep your head down swing easy. Go to utube look for Dustin Johnson look at his left wrist as he starts the drive. His knuckles are down when he strikes the ball but man it is easy and works. Good Luck!
  19. Right on max power, we stress the mid game and the short game then we often forget how important gettting off to a good start is. Not only being in the fairway but your head! Start with an attitude and you are junk until you calm down and get it going again. By this time you can be 3-4 strokes off your game. Spread the practice out to all the clubs even if you only hit a dozen drives in practice.
  20. If you have a private country club near you give them a call. I work at one and they have demo clubs on sale all the time. He might even let you hit a few to try them out. Those pros will do anything to move older inventory.
  21. just remember my friend its the talent in the carpenter not the tools! I am totally titlleist but the money might be better spent on some quality lessons and time around the short game practice area!
  22. A flop shot that phil would be proud of! Long par 4 terrible drive somewhere around the ladies t i think! Hit a bomb of a 3 wood next shot and flew the green. I could only see my partners head from down below and back of the green. Opened the 60* vokey and let that sucker fly! I think it went 30' above the green dropped 8' above the hole and roled sweetly in for the par. Sadly we only pushed on the hole.
  23. Hey in the hole is that your sister?
  24. dude take a lesson from a local pro!
  25. Hey gopherNut thanks for the info. I had the opportunity to swing one the other day. Felt good. Where does the whip help you the most. The physical traning or the tempo part. Does it actuallly help with the basic swing?
