  1. So I'm playing my local executive course. And for my life I can't break 40 on the front side. I've shot in the 80's on regulation courses a couple of times but something about this course's front nine eats my lunch. Any one else have some sort of goal of the same nature or course/hole that is your nemesis?
  2. I hate to say it but I will miss Brian. He was damn good entertainment if nothing else. Everyone else save for Derek seems to be a little dry.
  3. Yes I know. But at places like Golfsmith etc... they were still going for 34.99 a dozen.
  4. They have 2008 Nike One's going for 29.99 a dozen. By far cheapest I've seen for brand new balls. It's shop.pgatour.com for those that want to check it out. I will be ordering a couple of dozen for my stock pile.
  5. I'm still waiting for the original poster to explain exactly how Nike drivers are so inferior???
  6. It really depends on what part of Atlanta you'll be staying in and what your price range is. Give me an idea of area your going to be in and a price range and I'll give you some idea's.
  7. Who here takes them and who doesn't? Pro's or Con's for either??? Personally, I never take a practice swing. I've tried to force myself to do it and 99% of the time the actual swing is much worse than when I just step up to the ball and hit it. For me it works best if I start behind the ball. Get my target. Step up to the ball. Set Up. Look one more time at target. Swing. I think it's because I don't let myself get into my head and start having way to many swing thoughts. I keep my swing thought simple. "swing through the ball at the target"
  8. I just bought a sleeve of the One Tour. Personally I like the last model of One Platinum's much better. Maybe my swing was just off or the greens were harder than usual but I could not get these balls to check up on the greens at all. I will say with my irons the distance may have been a little better. But off the driver I'd say I lost a few yards. Again given how I didn't score today it was probably more down to my swing than the ball.
  9. Thanks all. I get it now. I could not find that answer on GHIN or the USGA to save my life.
  10. So when I post my score and it comes up it has several catergories. Example: Type Date Score CR Slope Diff. Course Name I 5-6-09 68 56.3 091 14.5 Legacy Golf Links Now I understand what all the categories are except the Diff. category.. Can someone explain please???
  11. I've recently started playing the Precept U-Tri tour ball. A good 3-piece ball for $23 a dozen at wal-mart.
  12. Just catching up here... I do agree preseason polls are crap. Voters gave UGA the #1 ranking yet they are now #3 after going 3-0. All because we didn't run up the score versus a AA team and a non BCS team and we struggled against SC. In my opinion there shouldn't be a poll until mid way through the season OR they need to throw out margin of victory in the BCS rankings. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining because I am a dog fan. But the system is broke if ANY team is ranked #1 goes undefeated and drops 2 spots.
  13. Mark Richt and Mike Bobo's horrible play calling will be the down fall of our beloved Dogs this year unless the SC game was all smoke and mirrors. I saw MAYBE 3 pass attempts in which Georgia attempted to just advance the ball up the field to gain first down's etc... 2 of those attempts were dropped by Tripp Chandler which were drive killers. You have one of the most dominate backs in college football right now. Why not give him the ball 25 times a game. Why not throw a few passes underneath. Maybe a 10 yard out. A couple of quick slants. Get the safties thinking a little bit instead of going for the one strike kill every drive. Don't get me wrong. I know it's Stafford's decision on who he throws the ball to but Mark has to step up and tell the kid to use his progressions and just keep drives moving. Sorry for the rant. Very frustrated Dog fan right now.
  14. Adam Scott.. Can you imagine the female attention he attracts!!
  15. LG Shine.
  16. I use a Yes! Callie I think. I can't remember the name of it.
  17. wasn't a big fan first time I watched it... But after seeing it 3 or 4 more times it is very entertaining.
  18. And still shoot 9 over for the back nine??? By 3 putting 8 of 9 greens on the back nine that's how... well seems like i need to shift more focus to putting now.. more specifically reading a putt. My speed was pretty good all day but lines were HORRIBLE. I'd say of those 8 three putts 5 of the second putts lipped out because I didn't have the correct line. And of those 8 three putts all 8 were horribly off line but hole high on the first putt. (Second thought while I wasn't chipping bad but not great or else i'd have been in much better position to not 3 putt) Either way I've been having some ball striking issues lately and I have those straightened out it seems as I was putting great iron on the ball all day. Anyone else have a round where it seems like one facet of your game just isn't working that day and it stops you from scoring?
  19. I recently put the Nike SQ 3 wood in my bag. I will never use a driver again (unless i can get the same results from the Nike SQ 5900). I'm not a big hitter but can put the ball out there 260+ on the fly with it dead straight. I can't believe I waited as long as I did to get it. And in the 3 wood version the square look of the club is not as awkward at set up as I would have originally thought. If nothing else give it a try. And I also hit EVERY 3 wood on the market and ended up with the Nike.
  20. Yes as stated earlier i fully expect the handicap to rise once more scores come in. I just thought the conversation with my mom was classic. She was truly pissed about it.
  21. Thanks guys. I'm sure once I get some more scores in I will be closer to a 20-22. Keep you guys posted.
  22. low was a 76 on a par 58. twice. High was an 85 twice on the par 62. Low regulation length was 96. High was 105. So that's 6 rounds. Again I think the handicap is scewed because of those exectutive course rounds even though they have a low rating/slope.
  23. Got my first handicap in.. 17.5. Way lower than I was expecting. I fully expect that to jump up closer to between 22-25. I think my handicap is scewed because of the 5 scores i had in there to get my first handicap 4 were at my executive courses where I do shoot around bogey golf. I think once I put in some scores at some more challenging courses that it will climb. I'm playing a course Saturday that is a 71.5/131. It should do wonders for that handicap :) Funny thing is I called my mother with this news (being the proud son and all) here is how that conversation went... me: Well mom I'm a 17.5 her: there is no way your a 17.5 You are probably really a 30 me: well that's what GHIN says I am her: they screwed something up. I shoot in the mid to high 80's and i'm a 22. me:well i'm sure it's this low because most scores were at my executive course. And the only other score i had in there was the 96 i shot at the hard course I told you about her:are you counting every stroke you take? There is no way you have a better handicap than me. Has someone been playing with you to verify your scores? me:.... me:hey i'm at work i got to go bye. Ahh now I truly realize why I am so screwed up in the head. Needless to say I won't be keeping her up to date with my scores/handicap any longer.
  24. I bought the Sumo 3 wood. I can hit it 260 on the fly and in the fairway. . I'm now going to pick up a Sumo driver. I have an older sasquatch driver now and my misses are not consistant at all which is why since I bought my 3 wood I've left it in the trunk. I went to PGA Superstore and tried out the driver. I definately need a different shaft as the ball was really kind of balloning on me. But all my misses were consistantly 10 yards left and still flew a good distance. ONly thing i've noticed is with that big square head I was seeming to lose about 5mph on my clubhead speed but the ball was still coming off pretty hot. I think average club head spead for me for the Sumo was around 98mph and was still getting a relatively good 148ish ball speed. Some of this however may have been me not being loose. Typically with my driver i have now i'm around 103-105mph.
  25. oops missed that part. Yeah no bueno. But come on the guy is a father and a busy business man. Does alot for kids with his foundation. I'll cut him some slack for the ESPY's.
